Any queries after reading the Frequently Asked Questions below …
How does this Relocation Service Work
- Customer requests a quote online or by phone
- Once the quote is accepted, money paid and cleared
- I start the process to get your vehicle home
Can I leave my things in the Caravan
You do not need to unload personal effects or food from your caravan or motorhome. Allen will take good care of all your belongings.
Are there any legal requirements
The tow vehicle and/or RV must be fully registered, road worthy, with current Third Party insurance and is deemed “safe to drive”.
It can’t be overloaded or the tow vehicle pulling beyond its legal capacity!
This is a requirement by law.
Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of the signed agreement.
Can I travel with the vehicle
If you need or wish to travel with the vehicle, RV or motorhome, this is no problem.
So long as accommodation can be provided along the way for the driver. I am flexible and will work in with my customers in every way possible.
Especially if the owner was wishing to travel with a pet.
Is my vehicle in safe hands
Allen is a qualified driver with over 40 years’ experience to drive your car, car/caravan combination, or motorhome back to your home address.
What costs are involved
- Air fares to the job, and return to our Brisbane base
- Transfer costs to and from where the vehicle is located
- Driver’s fee until the car & caravan or other vehicle to be re-located is driven into your driveway
- Accommodation costs if required, whilst our services are being engaged
Commercial Insurance
Caravan Relocation Services is unable to obtain commercial insurance for motor vehicle or caravan whilst being driven or towed by Allen; because insurance companies do not offer this product (yet). However it is imperative that you inform your insurance company that you are having your vehicle driven by a representative from Caravan Relocation Services or in the case of Caravan Relocation Services supplying a tow vehicle that your caravan is being towed by a Caravan Relocation Services tow vehicle. The driver is a professional fully licensed and experienced driver.
Allen has in excess of 40 years driving experience, accident free, with a clean licence and holds both a “C” and “Heavy Rigid” class licence.
Who pays for mechanical issues or breakdowns
As the owner of the vehicle this is your responsibility with any costs that may arise.
Our quote for relocation will be given after you supply the engine type, year model of the tow vehicle along with what style & weight the caravan is to be towed home.
An approximate costing for fuel usage for the journey as part of our quote will be included in our quote. If any extra costs are to be met due to break downs or tyre blow outs for example, this has to be paid for by the owner before the vehicle is returned.
A “Receipt of Return” of the vehicle will also be signed by the driver and owner, after inspection, indicating all parties are both happy and fully accept the transfer has been completed satisfactory with no damage or any further claims to be made by either party.
How soon can the relocation start
Once our quote has been received and is accepted by you, transfer of all required monies as per our quote completed, the air fare or transfer to the stranded vehicle is then booked for the next available flight.
If it is possible to start the drive home the same fly-in day, the return home journey will start immediately. This is after a visual safety check is completed on the car, or tow vehicle & caravan, plus a basic engine check with oil and water.
Before we take control of your vehicle we request a signature of our Contract Agreement & Authorisation to be completed.
We will always take the safest and quickest route home, abiding by the driving regulations with regular breaks and only the maximum driving hours performed. We prefer only to drive during daylight hours, which are considered the safest time to travel.
The driver will log his driving times and rest times if requested prior to the start of the journey.
How do you accept payment
By way of deposited funds transferred into our nominated account at the NAB.
As soon as we have received confirmation from you with proof of transfer receipts or deposit, we will start our process. A receipt for monies received will be handed over when the driver arrives at the located stranded vehicle.
We do not have credit card facilities or accept cheques.
Will you stay overnight in free roadside campsites
Yes to save costs for our customers; if the caravan/motorhome is set up for this style of overnight stopover.
It is preferred to stay overnight at caravan parks so the driver is fully rested for the next day’s drive.
Every job is different and we try to keep all costs down as low as possible, to make the relocation as inexpensive and reasonable for our valued clients.
